ESPECTÁCULO AUDIOVISUAL CON MÚSICA EN DIRECTO | 45 MIN | 2024
Peza realizada para a sesión inaugural da XIX edición da Mostra Internacional de Cinema Etnográfico (MICE), en homenaxe a Dorothé Schubarth. Falecida en setembro de 2023, as súas investigacións sobre os repertorios folclóricos europeos trouxérona ata Galicia. A finais dos anos 70 e durante os 80 percorreu o noso país recollendo cancións, músicas e bailes, sempre con rigor científico e introducindo a perspectiva das persoas informantes.
Gran parte desa música popular foi creada e interpretada por mulleres que permaneceron no anonimato do “colectivo” ata que chegou Dorothé e puxo nome a cada unha das composicións. O resultado dese traballo foi o monumental Cancioneiro Popular Galego, que se converteu nunha obra fundamental para o coñecemento do noso patrimonio, con máis de 5.000 pezas rexistradas en boa parte da nosa xeografía. A obra, realizada en colaboración con Antón Santamarina, foi editada a partir de 1984 en sete volumes pola Fundación Barrié.
Na actualidade, esas gravacións e os materiais que as acompañan consérvanse no Arquivo do Patrimonio Oral da Identidade (APOI) do Museo do Pobo Galego.

A piece created for the opening session of the 19th edition of the Mostra Internacional de Cinema Etnográfico (MICE), in tribute to Dorothé Schubarth. She passed away in September 2023. Her research into European folk repertoires brought her to Galicia, where, in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, she traveled across the region collecting songs, music, and dances—always with scientific rigor and prioritizing the perspective of the informants.
Much of this traditional music was created and performed by women who had remained anonymous within the "collective" until Dorothé arrived and gave names to each of the compositions. The result of this work was the monumental Cancioneiro Popular Galego (Galician Folk Songbook), a foundational work for the understanding of Galician heritage, with over 5,000 pieces recorded throughout the region. The project, carried out in collaboration with Antón Santamarina, was published from 1984 onward in seven volumes by the Fundación Barrié.
Today, these recordings and accompanying materials are preserved in the Archive of Oral Heritage and Identity (APOI) at the Museo do Pobo Galego (Museum of the Galician People).
